EBOLA PANDEMIC UPDATE

please find below an update on the Ebola pandemic:

  •  Republic of the Congo:

Following the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs suspending the calls in the Pointe-Noire Port of ships sailing from Liberia, Conakry Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria, the Ministry of Transportation has decided that specific measures had to be followed in order to enable port calls.   •  Equatorial Guinea.

Situation in Luba:

As confirmed by Nacional Chief Security of Bioko Sur on 4 September 2014:

  1. Vessel from West/East/Central African can now clear in Luba to discharge cargo, but crew are not allowed to disembark or go  on shore.
  2. Crew change of vessel coming from West/East/Central Africa  are still not allowed.
  3. Crew change of vessel coming from Offshore Equatorial Guinea is now allowed, provided the crew is transported from Luba directly to Malabo, with no stopover.
  4. Local movements of personnel going offshore from Malabo or from Luba is also allowed; movements of on- signers coming from the airport is not allowed though.

Situation in Malabo:

Malabo has not experienced any prohibition of crew change. Crew coming from outside Equatorial Guinea to join their vessels in K5 can do so without any problem. Off signers also leave the country trouble free.

Situation in Bata:

In Bata, the only request is for the 3 or 4 last ports of call to be mentioned. All cargo loaded in the  said ports must be declared.

  •  Gabon:

The Official Joint Communication from The Gabonese Ministry of Transportation & Ministry of Health dated 4 September 2014 stipulates that the calls are no longer suspended but specific rules have to be followed before and during the port calls. Contact us for more details on those measures.

  • Angola : 

No restrictions from local authorities, nevertheless, Health Authorities require Masters to advise their Port Agents of any sick crew on board, via email prior to vessel’s arrival. If someone on board is sick, name and symptoms must be advised as well. In case no one is sick on board, and email must be sent to the agent advising so.

  •  Mozambique:  no restrictions from local authorities
