Angola News: Notice N°02/2021 – BNA – Payment of invoices in USD/EUR for vessel operations

Please find enclosed BNA order Nº 2/21 dated 24th March 2021 and its free translation for your perusal and be informed of the following situation about payment of port and related charges for all vessel operations in Angola.

The National Bank of Angola approved new terms and conditions for the settlement of goods and services supplied by local shipping agents and port service providers, to owners or operators of foreign flagged vessels calling Angolan ports, excluding vessels operating in Angola under TI (temporary importation).

This is to come into effect as pf 26 April 2021

Please note however that said order is currently under analysis and discussions by agents and the BNA. The order must be subject to clarifications and eventually may be amended. We shall not fail to keep you further informed of progress and in particular of receipt of any invoices in hard currency related to your vessels. In such cases, we shall be forced to request full payment of all related associated costs (including additional bank fees) in the same currency we are billed.
