At TLC, sustainability is an integral part of how we operate and plan for the future. Through continuous improvement, responsible practices, and a long-term vision, we strive to create lasting value while reducing our environmental impact.
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, we spoke with Erwan Yvinou, Cátia Couto Catarino and Josinea Felix from our QHSE department about the role of environmental responsibility in our operations and our commitment to a more sustainable future.Â
At TLC, environmental responsibility is integrated into our daily operations through our Integrated Management System, aligned with ISO 14001.
Environmental considerations are embedded in operational planning, risk assessments, resource management, procurement activities, and logistics coordination. By identifying and evaluating the environmental aspects and impacts of our activities, we implement appropriate control measures and continuously improve our environmental performance.
Our commitment also extends throughout the supply chain, with environmental criteria considered when selecting and evaluating suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics partners. In addition, we work closely with our service providers to ensure effective preparedness for and response to potential environmental emergencies.
On the ground, teams are encouraged to adopt practical measures such as reducing paper, fuel, electricity, and water consumption, improving waste management, and using resources more efficiently, helping to minimize the environmental impact of our operations.
For our clients and partners, it means the confidence that operations are conducted responsibly and in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
At TLC, sustainability is integrated into our processes, procedures, risk assessments, and operational practices, ensuring a consistent approach across the organization. Environmental considerations, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement are embedded in the way we plan and manage our activities, helping us reduce risks and respond effectively to potential environmental incidents.
By working with TLC, clients and partners benefit from relationships built on trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to responsible and sustainable operations.
TLC monitors its environmental footprint through the regular tracking of key indicators such as fuel and electricity consumption, waste generation, fleet activity, and business travel.
To support this process, we use tools such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations, energy consumption monitoring, and fleet management systems. These help us better understand our environmental impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
Training also plays an important role, particularly defensive driving training, which helps reduce fuel consumption, improve road safety, and lower transport-related emissions.
Our environmental performance is reviewed regularly, and where necessary, corrective actions and improvement measures are implemented. Through the efficient use of resources, employee awareness, and continuous improvement, we strive to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Local teams play a key role in supporting sustainable logistics practices, as they are responsible for managing and executing operations on a daily basis.
They contribute by following environmental procedures, applying good practices in the field, promoting the efficient use of resources, and ensuring proper waste management. Their understanding of local operational realities helps identify practical and effective solutions that support environmental objectives.
Beyond operational activities, local teams also participate in environmental initiatives and awareness campaigns within their communities. These include activities such as beach clean-up campaigns carried out in collaboration with local NGOs, helping to promote environmental stewardship and strengthen community engagement.
Through training, communication, and continuous engagement, local teams help reinforce TLC’s environmental culture and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our environmental performance.
World Environment Day reminds us that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. The challenges posed by climate change affect us all, and addressing them requires collective action, awareness, and commitment.
While global goals and policies are important, meaningful change also comes from everyday choices. Reducing waste, using resources responsibly, and making more sustainable decisions in our daily lives can have a significant impact over time.
This day is an opportunity to reflect on the future we want to build and the role each of us can play in creating a healthier, more resilient, and sustainable world for future generations.
