Inauguration of the New International Airport of Luanda – Aeroporto Internacional António Agostinho Neto – AIAAN

TLC Angola is thrilled to share that today is the inauguration of the new international airport of Luanda – AIAAN (Aeroporto Internacional António Agostinho Neto).

Our colleagues in Luanda were very impressed when formally invited to visit the new main Hub for passengers and cargo services.

We look forward to welcoming our clients, and their freight, to this new asset.

Key Milestones to retain:

• A few weeks after the inauguration, cargo flights operated by TAAG from LGG will start landing at this state-of-the-art airport.
• In February 2024, domestic flights will commence, followed by international flights in June 2024.

 Cargo Terminal Highlights:

• The cargo terminal (TECA) boasts a single main warehouse of 13,000 SQM, including dedicated storage areas for domestic and international cargo, frozen goods, and a temperature-controlled space (-20º/+10º). It also features a limited area for dangerous goods.
• With a capacity of 130,000 tons/year (compared to 30,000 tons/year at International Airport ( 4 de Fevereiro), the terminal can extend up to an impressive 440,000 tons/year.
• The cargo terminal includes 24 small offices (20 to 40 sqm), with 4 already booked by TAAG and 2 by AGT.

 Passenger Services: 

• The airport is equipped to handle 15 million passengers/year (compared to 3 million currently). An on-site hotel with 50 rooms will cater for transit passengers.
• The train service to the airport is already operational, with an express route from downtown to the airport beginning in February 2024 (45 minutes).
